Over the years thumbing through magazines, I collected photos of spaces that I loved. I was a devoted reader of Architectural Digest and English Home. Colefax and Fowler, Cole & Sons, Farrow & Ball... Personally, I appreciated hand blocked wallpaper, early Tudor furniture with gothic aesthetics, velvet backed needlepoint pillows and rich colored Persian rugs. (Not everyone's look but it was what made me smile.) I had folders full of photos of my ideal room and made investments as I had them.
